Bean Trailer

If you’re considering purchasing a Bean teardrop trailer, it’s important to understand the differences between the six available models. From the simple and affordable Mean Bean to the luxurious Black Bean, there’s a Bean that’s perfect for your specific needs and budget.

Here are some of the things that all Bean trailers have in common:

  • One-piece molded fiberglass shell
  • Breakaway braking system pre-wired for electronic braking
  • 1-year structural warranty
  • Roofline lifetime warranty
  • Roof vent or fan
  • Airconditioning (as an option)
  • Solar power connection
  • Spare tire mount
  • Insulated cabin
  • Cabin and galley lights
  • 4 1/2″ queen foam mattress
  • Interior walls with stain and abrasion-resistant wall coverings
  • Dimmable recessed lighting in an inviting warm tone
  • 2 rear stabilizer jacks
  • Shore power port

All of the Bean trailers are extraordinarily customizable. They have many excellent standard features, but the customization allows each trailer to become your little work of art truly.

Next, we’ll look at the differences in each of the six Bean trailers.

Bean Stock

The Bean Stock is a great way to get into the Bean trailer family. It’s the original Bean model and is the perfect option for those who want a simple, no-frills camping experience. It includes a comfortable bed and basic amenities. At the same time, the Bean Stock is sturdy enough to get you off the beaten path.

While it’s a great trailer for the average campground, it’s solid enough to take on most unpaved roads like gravel roads and some forest service roads.

Like most teardrop trailers, the Bean Stock has a small compartment inside with a bed, as a bed and some storage, and a flip-up rear hatch. The galley kitchen is housed in the rear hatch of the trailer.

The standard Bean Stock galley comes standard with a galley that has some storage, but you’ll have to add your gear. You can upgrade the galley, for an additional cost. The most basic upgrade package, the Base Package, This

With this package, you get a stainless steel counter, an 18″ cook partner stove, a collapsable sink, two seven-gallon Aquatainer water storage containers, and a pull-out rack for your cooler. Options go up in price and convenience from there. With upgrades, you can get a stainless steel sink with a folddown faucet, and an 18-gallon water tank with a filter.

The advantage of ordering the upgraded package is that you won’t have to search for items that fit precisely in the galley space.

All Bean trailers have a queen-sized foam mattress that is 4 1/2 inches thick and 58″ x 78″. So if you’re shorter than 6′ 5″, you’ll fit just fine. Obviously, you won’t be able to stand up in a teardrop trailer. And it’s the same with Bean Trailers. From floor to ceiling, there are about five feet of space.

You can purchase a separate bunk that would be great for a child or a dog. When you’re lying down in the trailer, it sit just above where your feet are located. That way, you have the extra space and can still have a comfortable night’s sleep. If you don’t have a child or a dog, you can store gear on the bunk.

One of the selling points of the Bean trailer is the galley passthrough. The TROFAST system consists of four plastic-laminated interior cabinets that connect to the interior of the trailer.

One Bean owner said that he had two of everything in his old teardrop, like two toothbrushes. But with the passthrough, you can reach your things from both sides of the trailer. I can see how convenient that would be. Can you imagine settling in for the night and then realizing you had to go outside to get something you need? The TROFAST system alleviates that problem.

Another plus about the Bean trailer is the amount of interior storage. In addition to the TROFAST drawers, there is a large attic above and two interior drawers below the TROFAST drawers. These are good places to store your clothes.

On the opposite side of the trailer is an open cubbie that provides an upper storage space that is fairly deep. It’s a nice space since it’s easy to access for storage of things that you need to quickly grab like jackets.

Additionally, the trailer has six floor-mounted D-rings that can be used to secure gear during travel.

The interior also includes dimmable recessed lighting in an inviting warm tone, providing a cozy atmosphere for relaxing after a day of outdoor activities.

The electrical system of the Bean Stock is designed to get you off the grid, deep amp100 amp deep cycle AGM battery, power converter, and solar power port. The trailer also has shore power and two AC wall plugs with USB plugs in the galley and cabin areas.

The trailer’s chassis is made of a powder-coated steel tube frame with a pitched torsion axle, tongue, fixed 8,000 lbs jack, and 15″ of ground clearance. The Bean Stock is equipped with a removable 2″ ball hitch coupler, and a 2″ receiver.

The trailer also has 15″ steel wheels with 27″ radial all-season tires, a 7-pin wiring harness, a passenger sidewall-mounted spare tire, and two rear stabilizer jacks. A breakaway braking system is pre-wired for electronic braking, and a rear hitch receiver has a 200 lb weight capacity.

All this in a trailer that has a dry weight of 1650 lbs.

Classic Bean

The Classic Bean is a step above the Bean Stock in comfort and price. It has a roadster-retro aesthetic that will take you back to a time when teardrop trailers were made in the garages of would-be campers.

It’s designed to withstand extreme temperatures and rugged terrain. It combines the beloved teardrop style with “tiny home” comforts and solid construction.

The trailer has a seamless fiberglass shell that keeps unwanted elements out, and a heavy-duty 3,500-pound torsion axle that can handle rough roads.

Despite its small size, the Classic Bean has a 5-foot interior height and ample space for a queen-sized mattress, just like the Bean Stock. The cabin features comfortable seating, overhead lighting, USB ports for electronics, and storage space for food, clothing, and other essentials.

While the Classic Bean and the Stock Bean share many similarities, there are a few key differences between the two.

One of the most noticeable differences is in the exterior finish. The Classic Bean has a two-tone finish with Raptor Liner on the endcaps and fenders, while the Stock Bean has a single-color finish on the entire exterior.

Additionally, the Classic Bean has white sidewalls and a white roof, while the Stock Bean has a single-colored sidewall, roof, and rear hatch.

Another difference is in the floor plan. The Classic Bean has a floor storage compartment with an integrated lid, while the Stock Bean does not have this feature.

The trailer has a dry weight of 1650 lbs and a ground clearance of 15 1/2 inches. Its dimensions are 14′ 1/4″ in length, 7′ 2″ in width, and 80″ in height with the optional Maxx Fan.

The Classic Bean is designed for adventurers who want to travel in style and comfort. Its retro design and modern features make it a fan favorite. The trailer includes standard features such as a soft touch headliner with dimmable recessed lights, 3/4″ bug and water-resistant space age composite insulation with an R-value of 1.7, and room for a 60″ x 80″ queen-sized bed.

Black Bean

Like the Classic Bean, the Black Bean comes with a 4.5″ queen foam mattress. But as an added bonus, it also has under-mattress floor storage, left and right arm cushions, and an optional custom wood grain laminate slate ceiling system. There are a couple of advantages to the Timbren suspension. For starters, the Timbren is an axleless suspension. This means that you don’t have an axel under the trailer that can get caught on rocks or tree branches. Second, it gives more shock absorbance than traditional suspension systems.

The Black Bean also features a Cruisemaster DO35 articulating pin coupler, 20″ of ground clearance, 15″ steel wheels with 30″ BFG AT tires, and a driver’s sidewall-mounted spare tire. It has a breakaway braking system pre-wired for electronic braking. So, you can be sure this trailer can handle any terrain you encounter.

The one-piece fiberglass shell construction, Raptor-coated sidewall, and marine-grade white gel coat roof make the Black Bean both durable and stylish.

It also has rugged black stand-on aluminum fenders with slip/scuff resistant finish and round side marker and an Armadillo-coated front storage box. So, you’ll have plenty of storage options and easy access to your gear.

Finally, if you’re looking for an even smoother ride, you can upgrade to The Black Bean’s Cloud Suspension System. This system provides a smoother ride and more ground clearance, which can be especially helpful if you plan to take your trailer on rough terrain.

Meaner Bean

The Meaner Bean stands out from other Bean trailers due to several features that set it apart. One of the most significant differences is its Timbren 3500 HD axle-less suspension, which provides a smoother ride and more significant ground clearance than other models. This suspension system eliminates the need for an axle, reducing the overall weight of the trailer while maintaining stability and durability.

Another significant feature that distinguishes the Meaner Bean from other Bean trailers is it’s removable fully articulating Max Coupler Hitch.
