When my husband, Doug, and I got our first RV, I didn’t understand the concept of the black tank. I didn’t understand that it was not a limitless reservoir like the sewer system. In our little Casita Travel Trailer, the black tank in the wet bath was only five gallons. Not to get too graphic, but I decided to take a shower with the toilet lid up.
I was working at a remote location, and we were camping nearby. After my shower, I left for work and left Doug in charge of the trailer. Needless to say, Doug noticed a puddle of smelly liquid draining from the side of the trailer. You guessed it, I had overflowed the black tank.
Since then, I have learned SO much about RVs and RVing. It helps that I’ve been married to a man that has been RVing for the past 30 years. It’s also a plus that he is a mechanic!
It’s been 10 years since the day I overflowed the black tank. For me, it’s been a steep learning curve, and I’ve loved every minute of it. And if you’re new to RVing, I want you to know that we all started this journey somewhere – You’re not alone.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been camping my whole life. But when I met Doug 10 years ago, the RV thing was new to me. My passion for camping never faded. Together Doug and I have 40 years of RV experience!
My goal is to help you get outdoors and have quality time. That might mean that you go out on adventures by yourself or your spend time with friends and family.
To me, the best thing about RVing is getting off the beaten path. Not only do I want that for me, but I want that for you too. We’re on this journey together.
So welcome to a new adventure!
